What is it like to rest inside the chamber at Harmonic Egg Saco?
At Harmonic Egg Saco, you recline in a private wooden chamber. Inside are a zero-gravity chair, music and colored light. The published session length is 50 minutes: 40 minutes with music and light, followed by 10 minutes of quiet. There is no touch or talking required during that time.
The first-visit intake
A first visit begins with a brief intake. You can find the form on the new guest intake page and bring a printed copy, or fill it out on arrival.
The form is a separate step from the time spent in the chamber. Reading it ahead gives you a chance to see what the studio asks for before the appointment. Related: What is the Gallery of Babel and how does it relate to the Harmonic Egg?.
The room and chair
The chamber is shaped like an egg. Its chair lets you lean back. There is no set of moves or exercises to follow. There is no water tank involved. Related: What color light is most relaxing for the body and mind?.
You can picture this layout before you book. The chair, enclosed space and light are parts of the visit itself. The studio's photo gallery offers another way to look at the setting before arriving.
Music, colored light and the quiet portion
Colored light shifts while it plays. Quiet here means the part of the visit after the music stops. Related: Where can you find the Harmonic Egg in Maine?.
There is nothing to perform during the seated time, and a conversation is not required. Rest in this description means spending time reclining in the chair. Read the service page as a guide to the room and the steps of a visit. Related: What photos are in the Harmonic Egg Saco gallery?.
Allowing time for the whole appointment
The 50-minute session is not the same as the total time to allow for a first visit. Keep that distinction in mind when choosing a time around other commitments.
Arrival and the first chat sit outside that time. If you need to leave at a set time, ask the studio first. The session length does not cover every part of the visit.
Choosing an in-person booking
The website also lists remote appointments, so read the service label rather than assuming every option includes a visit to the chamber.
Check that you chose the right type of visit before you book. Allow time for intake if this is your first appointment. Read the current service page for booking details.
